Ukraine should change its legislation and allow the deployment of NATO military bases on its territory. This was stated by the Deputy Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Sergei Krivonos. According to him, Ukraine needs to take advantage of the withdrawal of parts of the alliance from Germany.
“The most reliable shoulder of our NATO partners will allow us to create this shield that will protect Ukraine”, – Krivonos is convinced.
He also added that in order for this to become possible, a political decision is needed.
“For example, we are now seeing a program in which the United States is withdrawing its bases from Germany: some of them are brought into the territory of Romania, some are brought into the territory of Poland, and a little into Lithuania and Estonia. We can, thanks to the work of our deputies, adopt the relevant laws”, – he said.
