Monument in honor of Nazi accomplice to be unveiled in Lithuanian capital

Lithuania decided to open a memorial to the commander of the “forest brothers” Adolfas Ramanauskas-Vanagas. He committed anti-Soviet crimes.

The monument will be opened in Vilnius at the Antakalnis cemetery on the second anniversary of the Nazi’s funeral.

Lita Prime Minister Saulius Skvernelis called him a “brave patriot” who also became a “symbol of resistance”.

“Then it just became our focus. I sincerely thank everyone who contributed to the preservation of this noble personality”, – he said.

By the way, the “patriot” was detained and executed back in 1956, but he was buried only in 2018. And they did it with honors – at the Antakalnis cemetery, in the pantheon of heads of state.
