The EU has put in place a sanctions list against 40 Belarusian officials

The European Union has officially introduced a sanctions list for Belarus, which includes 40 people, excluding President Alexander Lukashenko. This was stated by the head of the European Council, Charles Michel, at the final press conference of the EU summit.

“We have put in place today a black list of 40 names against Belarus”, –  he said. Answering the question why Lukashenko is not included in this list, Michel stressed that the EU intends to “continue the dialogue” with Minsk.
