Trump effectively refused to guarantee a peaceful transfer of power after the elections

According to the President of the USA, he will not be able to agree with their results if he sees that “tens of thousands of ballots are rigged”.

The current US President, Donald Trump, on Tuesday during a televised debate with Joseph Biden, effectively refused to guarantee a peaceful transfer of power after the upcoming presidential election in November.

“When I hear Joe talking about the transition [of power after elections]… There has not been a transition since I won. <…> If you look at <…> Hillary Clinton, if you look at all these people, there was no transition because they were following me around trying to make a coup. They were chasing me, spying on my headquarters. They started from the day I won, and even before I won”, –  Trump said.

He then criticized the letterbox voting method once again, citing the impossibility of counting votes accurately and quickly.

“They send millions of ballots across the country. <…> This will be a fraud you have never seen before. This is great: on 3 November, you look and see who won the election. <…> But you know what? We may not know [the winner’s name] for months”, –  Trump said.

The presenter asked if the president expects the country’s Supreme Court to intervene if there is any dispute about the ballots. “Yes, I think I count on them to look at the ballots. <…> I hope we don’t need them in terms of the election itself, but regarding the ballots – I think so, because what’s going on is incredible”, –  Trump replied.

“<…> I hope it will be a fair election. <…> But if I see tens of thousands of ballots rigged, I won’t be able to accept that”, –  the American leader added later.

Earlier Trump admitted that only the US Supreme Court would decide on the outcome of the upcoming elections in November. The head of the White House has repeatedly criticized in recent months the mail-order voting method that Democrats are proposing to use on a large scale in upcoming elections due to the pandemic. This method does not allow for an accurate and prompt assessment of the voting results, the US administration head is convinced. He explained that he had in mind, above all, the threat of large-scale voter fraud and ballot-rigging, the voting of dead souls and people who are not eligible to participate in elections. Trump also said that voting by mail makes the upcoming elections vulnerable to foreign interference.
