Trump called on supporters to go to the polling stations and ensure the integrity of the vote

The President has admitted that he will rely on the Supreme Court to determine the results of the elections.

US President Donald Trump called on his supporters to come to the polls to ensure that the vote is fair. Trump spoke on Tuesday night at the first TV election debate. Broadcast from the Case Western Reserve University Auditorium in Cleveland, Ohio, was conducted by all major American television companies.

When asked whether he would count on the Supreme Court to determine the outcome of the election if necessary, Trump accepted the opportunity. “But I hope we won’t consider it,” said the White House head. – But what happens to the ballots is unbelievable. I read that one percent of the ballots in 2016 (during the last presidential election – TASS) were invalid. Trump spoke favourably of two ways of voting: being present in person at the polling station, or asking for a ballot-related request by mail.

“Look at West Virginia, the ballots have been thrown out, dumped in the river. This is terrible for our country, it will not end well”, –  continued the head of the American administration. – “[Sent] 80 million ballots, you are drowning the system, it [processing] cannot be done. It’s a disgrace.”

Trump thinks that the vote count could take months because of this.

“I encourage my supporters to go to the polls and keep a close eye on them”, –  he said. When asked by the moderator of the debate whether the President is ready to call on his supporters not to protest if the results are not satisfactory, the head of the White House expressed the hope that “the elections will be fair”. “If this is a fair election, then I agree with you one hundred percent. <…> I see tens of thousands of ballots being manipulated, I cannot accept it”, –  Trump said.

The Head of the White House has repeatedly criticized in recent months the mail-order voting method, which Democrats are proposing to use on a large scale in the upcoming elections on 3 November due to the pandemic. This method does not allow for accurate and timely summing up of voting results, believes the head of the US administration. He explained that he had in mind, above all, the threat of large-scale voter fraud and ballot-rigging, the voting of dead souls and those who are not entitled to participate in the elections. Trump also stated that voting by mail makes elections vulnerable to interference from abroad.
