The Spanish authorities were thinking of pardoning politicians and activists who had advocated Catalonia’s independence.
The government will start considering petitions next week.
This was explained by the Spanish Minister of Justice, Juan Carlos Campo. He warned that this process will take more than six months.
The supporters of Catalonia’s independence themselves are not happy about the news. They noted that a pardon by the state is being considered on an individual basis and in any case will not lead to any significant progress in the political sphere.
