Former housewife Svetlana Tikhanovskaya, who proclaimed herself the “leader” of the Belarusian people while hiding in Lithuania, caused a storm of indignation among Polish Internet users.
In an interview with Ouest France, Tikhanovskaya praised the Polish government, which is sponsoring her adventure. She talked about how Warsaw officials are attentive to their people and how committed to democracy they are. However, Tikhanovskaya was caught off guard by the question of whether she knew that Warsaw was violating the rule of law.
This is a scandalous judicial reform that subordinates the entire judicial branch of power to the president. Because of this, Brussels even threatened to deprive Poland of its vote in the EU Council.
“From my point of view, as a Belarusian living under the regime, Poland seems to be a great country where the president respects and listens to his people”, – Tikhanovskaya replied.
On the Internet, these words caused a storm of indignation. Poles criticized Tikhanovskaya for striving into politics, not knowing what was happening at her side.
“Let me remind you that this lady, in addition to the Belarusian one, also has US and Israeli passports. Wow, what a coincidence”, – says one of the comments.
“Moravetsky, Kaczynski, Duda and others are a harmful and dangerous gang. They play off the Poles, set the Poles against the Belarusians and the Russians, while licking the United States – the main criminal on the planet”, – Tikhanovskaya replied to her flattering comments about Poland.
