Democrats want to check Pentagon expenses.
Congressmen from the Democratic Party of Barbara Lee and Mark Poken called for an audit of the expenses of the Pentagon, which according to media reports has misspent about $1 billion of the funds allocated to fight the coronavirus.
“The Pentagon has used $1 billion of the Cares act to pay out defence contractors instead of providing security to troops and the public. This is not fair. Congressman Poken and I call for this to be investigated immediately”, – Lee tweeted on Wednesday.
According to The Washington Post on Tuesday, the Pentagon spent most of its March funds on paying contractors who supplied jet engines, bulletproof vests and uniforms.
