Alexei Navalny, whom Germany used to make new accusations against Russia, will have to talk to the staff of the Russian Prosecutor General’s Office.
As reported by the Russia Today TV channel, the interrogation is planned to be held in Berlin. Investigators want to establish the details of Navalny’s trip to Novosibirsk and Tomsk as part of checking the version with the poisoning of the oppositionist.
In particular, the Prosecutor General’s Office intends to find out who planned the business trip and accompanied Navalny on the trip from the moment of departure from Moscow to hospitalization in Omsk. The department is also interested in why the politician changed rooms in the Tomsk hotel.
At the moment, the request has been forwarded to the German Ministry of Justice.
As previously reported by News Front, on August 20, Navalny became ill during the flight, and therefore the plane was urgently landed in Omsk. He was taken to hospital, but later transported to Germany. On September 2, Berlin announced that Navalny was allegedly poisoned by the poison of the Novichok group. Although no evidence was presented, the Russian government was held accountable for the incident.
The expert community is confident that the accusations are politicized and connected with attempts to interfere with the construction of the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline. This is confirmed by the position of many Western politicians who began to insist on including the project in the sanctions list, although this would cause economic damage to Europe.
In addition, the Navalny case has been repeatedly compared with the sensational case of the Skripals, when escaped ex-GRU colonel Sergei Skripal and his daughter Yulia were poisoned in British Salisbury. Although the incident took place in the spring of 2018, London never provided evidence. It is noteworthy that Germany went the same way and refuses to publish the results of Navalny’s medical research.
