Three major American cities may lose federal funding as local authorities allow riots.

In the US, funding of megalopolises where unrest continues

This statement was made by US Attorney General William Barr.

We are talking about New York, Seattle and Portland. The pogroms continue on the streets of these cities to this day, which began after the Minneapolis police killed a black repeat offender George Floyd in late May.

“We cannot allow federal tax dollars to be wasted when citizens’ safety hangs in the balance,” Barr said.

As recently as last week, the Ministry of Justice appealed to the Prosecutor General’s Office with a demand to consider charges of inciting extremists to revolt. The warning about the possibility of cutting off funding was the next step by the Donald Trump administration in an attempt to quell the protests.

Earlier, the president had already passed a memorandum with criteria to consider when considering funding states and cities that “tolerate anarchy, violence and destruction in American cities.”
