Britain one step away from new quarantine

The spread of coronavirus has reached a critical point in the UK and the Boris Johnson government is considering blocking it again.

This is reported by the Bloomberg agency, referring to materials prepared for the press conference that were at the journalists’ disposal.

Health Minister Matt Hancock said that quarantine may be imposed at the national level if people do not comply with existing restrictions. It also became known that London would be the first place to close down. The mayor of the British capital Sadik Khan is due to announce this already on Monday 21 September.

The government has been warned that people who violate the conditions of self-isolation will be fined up to 10,000 pounds or 13,000 dollars. Chris Whitty, the country’s Chief Medical Officer, and Patrick Vallance, Senior Scientific Adviser, recommend preparing for “a very difficult winter”.

Finance Minister Rishi Sunak has pointed out the need to extend state support programmes, within the framework of which 69 billion dollars have already been paid to companies.
