The foreign ministers of the 27 EU member states were unable to agree on a sanctions list from Belarusian officials, as the EU states did not reach a unanimous decision. This was stated by the head of European diplomacy Josep Borrell.
“It was impossible to approve the sanctions today because there was no unanimity,” he said.
Borrell explained that the EU does not intend to interfere in the affairs of Belarus.
“We do not have a secret agenda, we do not want to interfere in the internal affairs of the country. We only call for national dialogue and fair elections, ”he said.
