About a thousand cars gathered in line at the Ukrainian-Belarusian border at the Vystupovichi checkpoint, the press service of the Kiev customs service said on Sunday.
Earlier, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine announced the closure of the Novye Yarilovichi checkpoint in the Chernihiv region on the Ukrainian-Belarusian border due to the threat of COVID-19 – the Kiev customs claim that the congestion in Vystupovichi arose precisely because of this.
“Over the past day, the situation with the accumulation of vehicles at the Vystupovichi checkpoint has deteriorated significantly. There are now about 600 vehicles in the queue to enter Ukraine, and 300 to exit. To resolve the situation, the leadership of the Kiev customs of the State Customs Service left for the Vystupovichi checkpoint”, – said in a message on Facebook of the department.
