Neither Trump nor Biden will win, but Putin – New York Times reveals expensive price the U.S. will pay for the 2020 election

The American administration must at all costs legitimize the November elections, otherwise the consequences will be catastrophic.

As News Front previously reported, the expert community has repeatedly said that the 2020 elections will be the most controversial in the US history. Both candidates are mired in scandals, and parties regularly exchange accusations and vilify opponents.

Moreover, taking advantage of the spread of the coronavirus, the US Democratic Party is promoting the idea of holding presidential elections by mail. This method of voting provides them with an incredible resource to rig the results in favor of their highly controversial candidate, Joe Biden.

A study by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology found that during the 2008 elections, 3.9 million remote voters were denied a legal opportunity to make a choice – they were simply not sent ballots. 2.9 million ballots sent out simply disappeared without being returned to election officials. Finally, another 800,000 ballots were not accepted for various reasons. Against this background, even the OSCE is questioning the legitimacy of the elections.

Given the circumstances, it is not just a Republican or Democratic victory that is at stake, writes The New York Times. The November elections call into question the continued existence of the “American Democratic Experiment”. The media drew attention to how actively they are now talking about fraud in the US voting system; sinister conspiracies that distorted the political will of the people; about the collapse of the judicial and law enforcement systems. According to the article, all this is beneficial to the “enemies of American democracy”.

“If these are the results of this tumultuous election year, we are lost, no matter which candidate wins”, – writes the NYT.

“The total destruction and sowing of salt on the land of American democracy is a disaster that goes far beyond mere defeat, and is poison for generations. An election victory under such conditions would not be a victory at all. The judgment of history, reflecting the death of an enlightened democracy, will be harsh”.

In this regard, the key task of the American leadership is to “achieve the recognition of the election results as legitimate” by any means, since it is the electoral legitimacy that is the main justification of the US political system.

“If we do not make every conceivable effort to ensure the integrity of our elections, the winners will not be Donald Trump or Joe Biden, not Republicans or Democrats. Only Vladimir Putin, Xi Jinping and Ali Khamenei will become the winners”, – the newspaper said.
