Through the efforts of the opposition, the parliamentary coalition of socialists and democrats has been sharply reduced in number. This suggests the need to dissolve the legislature and call new elections.
This statement was made by the President of Moldova Igor Dodon.
“The ruling coalition exists. It includes PSRM and DPM. But the situation has changed. When we signed the agreement, there were 36 deputies in the Socialist Party, and 23 in the Democratic Party. Now there are half as many in the DPM”, – the head of the republic explained.
According to him, the parties are now holding consultations on the current situation. Nobody intends to redistribute positions in the government or terminate the cooperation agreement, since stability is needed before the presidential elections.
“And after the elections, we need to discuss the situation. I believe that this parliament should be dissolved and early elections called. I would very much like to be able to sign a decree on setting the date of early elections after the presidential elections”, – Dodon stated.
