Moscow and Ankara can agree on a ceasefire in Libya

The Turkish side made a sensational statement following inter-ministerial negotiations between the two countries.

As Kommersant reports, on the air of CNN Turk Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu said that Turkey believes that it has approached an agreement with Russia on the parameters of the ceasefire in Libya.

“My Russian colleagues and I discussed Libya today and the meeting was fruitful. Our common goal is a truce. We have come close to an agreement on its parameters and the political process in Libya”, –  said Mr Cavusoglu.

Let us remind you that on September 16, the head of the Government of National Reconciliation (GNC) and the Presidential Council of Libya Fayez Sarrage announced his resignation. On August 21, he announced the suspension of all military operations in Libya.
