Erdogan and Merkel discuss the Eastern Mediterranean issue

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and German Chancellor Angela Merkel held talks, during which they discussed the state of bilateral relations and the situation in the Eastern Mediterranean region. This is stated in the message of the Turkish presidential administration.

The head of the Turkish state said that the differences in the Eastern Mediterranean can be resolved through negotiations and compromises, provided a constructive and fair approach to the problem.

The Turkish leader noted that European states must be fair and consistent in the issue of the Eastern Mediterranean.

President Erdogan stressed that Turkey will continue to pursue a decisive and active policy in order to protect its rights.
