The Russian leader is trusted by 23% of respondents, according to the survey conducted by Pew Research Center.
Residents of developed countries have more confidence in Russian President Vladimir Putin than in American leader Donald Trump. This is evidenced by the results of a survey conducted by the Washington Pew Research Center on Tuesday among 13,200 people in 13 countries.
According to the survey, 23% of Pew Research Center participants have confidence in the Russian leader. A little less – 19% – is a trust rating for the Chinese President Xi Jinping. However, only 16% of respondents trust the head of the American administration.
The highest rating in this survey – 76% – is from German Chancellor Angela Merkel. It is followed by French President Emmanuelle Macron with 64% and British Prime Minister Boris Johnson with 48%.
Residents of Germany, Italy and Austria have the most confidence in the Russian leader, the study notes. A total of 13 countries that did not include the USA took part in the survey: Australia, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the Netherlands, Spain, Sweden and the UK. The survey was conducted from 10 June to 3 August.
