Netanyahu said that radicals from Gaza are trying to prevent peace with Arab countries

Palestinian radicals from Gaza launched rockets at Israel during a ceremony to sign peace agreements with the UAE and Bahrain, the Prime Minister said.

Palestinian radicals from the Gaza Strip began firing rockets at Israel during a ceremony to sign peace agreements with the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Bahrain on Tuesday in Washington, D.C. to prevent the Jewish state from making peace with these countries. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu made this statement on Wednesday before flying from Washington to Tel Aviv.

“I am not surprised that Palestinian terrorists started firing rockets at Israel right during this historic ceremony. They (Palestinian radicals – TASS) want to prevent peace, but they can’t do that”, –  the Prime Minister’s office said.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, UAE Foreign Ministers and Bahrain’s Sheikh Abdullah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Abdel Latif Al Zayani signed agreements on Tuesday to normalize relations. The ceremony was held at the White House in the presence of US President Donald Trump.

According to the text of the agreement circulated by the White House press office, Israel and the UAE intend to open embassies “as soon as practicable”. The parties plan to establish direct regular passenger flights as well as to develop cooperation in tourism. The agenda includes agreements in the areas of investment, trade and innovation, health, science, sports, energy and education. Similar agreements have been reached between Israel and Bahrain.
