Brussels refuses to recognize local elections in Crimea and Sevastopol

The European Union will not recognise the results of local elections in the Crimea and Sevastopol. Brussels traditionally claims that this is “Ukrainian territory”.

This was stated in a statement by Peter Stano, spokesman for the EU Foreign Affairs Service.

“The European Union does not recognise the holding of elections in the Crimean peninsula. Anyone who was elected at these elections organized by Russia in the Crimea as representatives of the Crimea and Sevastopol, will not be recognized by the European Union as a representative of these territories, which are part of Ukraine”.
