According to the British Prime Minister, the EU intends to impose a food blockade within the United Kingdom.
According to DW citing Johnson’s column in Daily Telegraph, British Prime Minister Boris Johnson claims that the European Union is threatening to “stop food supplies from Britain to Northern Ireland” despite the existence of import duties from one region to another.
The head of the British government is convinced that this is the way the EU is reinforcing an “extreme interpretation” of the Northern Ireland agreement, which could destroy the country’s economic and territorial integrity. At the same time, he believes that EU action threatens peace in Northern Ireland.
The European Union has already rejected accusations of attempts to undermine the integrity of the UK. It was recalled that the country must comply with a number of requirements in order for the EU to allow food imports.
