South Korea and the United States agree to cooperate to continue the dialogue with the DPRK. This was reported by the Renhap agency.
A meeting was held between Deputy Foreign Minister Choi Chong Kun and US Special Representative for the DPRK Stephen Bigan. They met in Washington.
“We have agreed that our Foreign Ministry and the US State Department will work closely to resume dialogue between the South and North and the North and the United States as early as possible”, – said Choi Chong Kun.
At the same time, the representative of Seoul and Washington agreed that they would help resolve the stalled talks between the two countries to jointly cover the costs of deploying 28,500 American troops in South Korea.
In addition, an anonymous official said South Korea has been invited to attend the next G7 summit.
