The Seimas of Lithuania calls on Russia not to allow any attempt to define the future of Belarus.
According to delfi, on Thursday the Lithuanian Parliament adopted a resolution calling on the international community to respond to events in Belarus and to block Russia’s attempts to get ahead of the country’s political direction.
“The resolution was unanimously supported by 91 members of the Seimas, among its authors – Speaker Viktoras Pranzketis, Foreign Minister Linas Linkevičius, representatives of almost all parliamentary factions”, – the report says.
Conservative Zygimantas Pavilionis, who introduced the resolution, noted that Lithuania should encourage the international community to react to events in Belarus.
“Any international agreements that would limit the sovereignty of Belarus are humiliating, a crime against the Belarusian people, can not even be recognized by the international community, as de facto it is the annexation of the country”, – said Pavilionis.
