Among the green spaces in the center of Sofia, an arsenal amid the ongoing riots for the third month can be found.
This was announced on Thursday, September 10, by the Bulgarian editorial office of News Front.
We have already talked about who is shaking the situation in Bulgaria and why. Riots in the capital of the Balkan country began on July 9. The protesters have only one demand: the resignation of Boyko Borisov’s government. An important point is that President Rumen Radev led the protests. And then the United States showed significant support.
On September 2, the escalation of tension reached its limit when the next action escalated into a large-scale carnage between extremists and the police. However, to all appearances, the extremists were preparing new provocations. This is evidenced by finds in the government quarter of Sofia. Here, among the green spaces, law enforcement officers found knives, pieces of rebar and incendiary mixtures. All this was neatly hidden in the bushes so that the extremists who came to the next rally unarmed could take everything they needed for provocations.
Police are conducting raids as radicals have declared the so-called second great popular uprising. Although the latest poll showed that only 40% of the population support the protest, President Rumen Radev said today that his adventure allegedly expresses the interests of the entire people.
“The mass protest belongs to all citizens. It is not smugglers and not the mafia who are entering the square today, but the Bulgarian people, he said.
“Political changes are inevitable, and any tenacity of the managers only aggravates the crisis”.
