Kiev has called an urgent meeting at the Minsk talks

Representatives of Ukraine at the negotiations on the Donbas settlement convened an emergency meeting of the subgroup on security issues.

The relevant letter was sent by Leonid Kravchuk, head of the Ukrainian delegation to the Tripartite Contact Group, to the Special OSCE Monitoring Mission.

The request to convene the meeting is related to the postponement of the inspection of Kiev chasten positions near the village of Shumy.

“Taking into account the new requirements of Russia, the Ukrainian side proposed to postpone the inspection until the discussion of this emergency situation in the framework of an extraordinary meeting of the sub-working group on security issues”, –  said in Kravchuk’s letter.

As News Front reported earlier, the Ukrainian occupation troops strengthened their positions in the Shumy settlement in violation of the truce conditions. Denis Pushilin, Head of the DNR, warned that the military personnel of the republic would destroy the fortifications of chasteners on their own. The operation was to start on Monday, but then it was postponed, which made it possible to resolve the situation in the framework of the Tripartite Contact Group negotiations.

On Wednesday 9 September, the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the DPR announced that the parties to the conflict had agreed to joint patrols under the supervision of observers from the OSCE mission. The information was confirmed in the administration of Vladimir Zelensky, but today it became known that the inspection had been postponed.
