Details of EU anti-Belarusian sanctions disclosed in Poland

As one of the key instigators of the coup attempt in Belarus, Warsaw insists on the creation of an open sanctions list that will be easily replenished.

Peter Wawrzyk, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Poland, spoke about this in his speech to Parliament.

According to him, the European Union will impose sanctions against fifty Belarusian statesmen.

“Based on the data we now have, we can say that this list will include several dozen names. Maybe 50 or 40, or maybe more”, –  said the official, noting that the Polish government wants “this list to be as wide as possible.”

Wawrzyk also stressed that Warsaw insists that the sanctions list “should be as open as possible”. This will make it easy to add new names to the list.
