This decision was made by Cyprus because of the conflict with Turkey. He demands to introduce measures against several Turkish companies that took part in drilling operations for the extraction of natural gas in the economic zone of the Mediterranean state.

In protest, Cyprus did not support the imposition of sanctions against Minsk. And they can be introduced only with the consent of all 27 EU countries.
