The President of Belarus gave an extensive interview to the Russian media.
On his Telegram channel, Russian journalist Roman Babayan spoke about the past meeting of the Belarusian leader with representatives of the Russian media.
“We are ready to continue the integration with Russia, but first we need to really start working all the institutions and projects that already exist within the Union State”, – Lukashenko said, commenting on the integration processes within the Union State of Russia and Belarus.
Speaking about the demands of the Belarusian opposition, the leader of Belarus refused to weigh the dialogue with people who have appointed themselves to the so-called Opposition Coordination Council.
“I will not talk to the Opposition Coordination Council, because I do not know who these people are. They are not any opposition. All they offer is a disaster for Belarus and the Belarusian people. They want to sever all our ties with fraternal Russia, they want us to have paid education and medicine. They want all our industrial enterprises to be destroyed and the workers to become unemployed!”- Lukashenko explained.
The president of the republic is ready to understand the desire of the young part of society to see changes in the country, but he recalled that, due to their age, they hardly remember what the republic was like in the 90s, and what the citizens of Belarus had to go through.
“Yes, I admit that I sat out, I worked for Belarus and for the Belarusian people for a quarter of a century, and only I can protect our country today”, – Lukashenko said.
“Protestors simply do not know what our Belarus was like 20 years ago, but some have forgotten it!”
