Trump cancels grants to American schools where history classes talk about racist nature of American statehood

We are talking about the so-called historical manuals of “Project 1619”.

As reported by the Telegram channel “Malek Dudakov. Author’s channel”, this project was launched over a year ago. Behind it there are liberal historians of the United States, clustered around the editorial office of the NYTimes. They are engaged in a historical revision of the American past, focusing on the theme of racism and “white supremacy”.

“1619 is the year when the first black slave was brought from Africa to North America. “Project 1619” calls to consider the history of the United States not from the date of the founding of the country in 1776, but from 1619 – to understand the current racial contradictions in American society. Another key thesis: the United States, in principle, arose because of racism. By that time, the institution of slavery was gradually abolished in the territory of the British Empire. But the wealthy planters of North America did not want to give up slavery, so they started a revolution against George III”.

Project 1619 historians conclude that America was founded on the principles of racism, intolerance and oppression of minorities – whether African Americans, Indians or Asians. Therefore, you cannot be proud of the American past – you can only be ashamed of it.

The political consequences of such a revision of history are obvious. After all, if the entire past of the United States is associated with racism, and there was nothing good there, then it must be abandoned as soon as possible.

“We will destroy the whole world of violence to the ground, and then… The appearance of “Project 1619” is only evidence of the polarization of American society, where one part of the population simply denies its entire state. However, Trump’s current measure – like the recent cancellation of the lessons of “critical racial theory”, may somewhat slow down these centrifugal ideological trends”.
