In the confrontation in the Eastern Mediterranean, the parties involved continue to rattle their weapons.
As TASS reports with reference to Anadolu, Turkey and the self-proclaimed Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) will hold military exercises in the Mediterranean Sea against the backdrop of tensions with Greece.
“The naval exercises will be held from 6 to 10 September,” the message says.
On August 6, the Foreign Ministers of Greece and Egypt signed an agreement on the demarcation of maritime zones in the Mediterranean. According to Athens, the agreement with Egypt secures the right of the Greek islands to the sea shelf and the EEZ. Ankara said it does not recognize this document.
