Terror in Donbass turned into a new criminal case for Poroshenko

Due to the fact that Petro Poroshenko sabotaged the ceasefire, delaying the punitive operation against the inhabitants of the Donbass people’s republics, the court ordered prosecutors to open a criminal case against the former president of Ukraine.

This was reported by the press service of the Opposition Platform – For Life Party, whose members previously appealed to the Speaker of Parliament and the Prosecutor General with a request to study the facts of the crimes committed by Petro Poroshenko and his accomplice Alexander Turchinov.

Although the Prosecutor General Irina Venediktova called the information of the deputies “considerations and assumptions”, the Pechersk District Court of Kiev fully satisfied the complaint about its inaction. She should have entered information about the commission of a criminal offense in the Unified Register of Pre-trial Investigations, but did not do this.

Now Venediktova was obliged not only to enter information into the database, but also to begin criminal proceedings against Poroshenko and Turchinov for sabotaging the Minsk agreements. The fact is that in 2014, officials deliberately concealed the adopted law on amnesty for representatives of the Lugansk and Donetsk people’s republics. Kiev pledged to approve this document as part of the Minsk process to resolve the Donbas conflict, but all references to it have been removed from the official website of the parliament. This step allowed the Ukrainian authorities to continue the punitive operation, which led to an increase in casualties among the civilian population of Donbass.
