Turkey will be able to produce Antonov transport aircraft, simultaneously selling its drones to Ukraine.
This is reported by the Turkish edition “Milliyet”.
As noted in the media, a delegation of Ukrainian officials, including Deputy Prime Minister Oleg Urusky, visited Ankara.
Representatives of the Antonov aircraft building company also arrived from Kiev. They were received personally by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
The goal of the Ukrainian delegation was to establish joint production of Antonov transport aircraft with Turkey. Erdogan does not exclude such a possibility if the necessary conditions are met. At the moment, the parties have not come to a final decision, but intend to continue the negotiation process.
But Ukraine has promised to continue military purchases in Turkey after it has already acquired unmanned aerial vehicles from it.
The situation, in particular, was discussed by the presidents of the two countries. During a telephone conversation with his Turkish counterpart, Volodymyr Zelenskyy expressed hope that an agreement on military cooperation will be signed by the end of 2020. Erdogan, in turn, said he would be happy to supply Ukraine with Turkish military equipment.
