According to the Kremlin press service, Russian President Vladimir Putin held a telephone conversation with Japanese Prime Minister Shinzdo Abe, who earlier announced his decision to step down.
“In connection with Shinzo Abe’s decision to leave the post of Prime Minister, Vladimir Putin thanked him for his joint work and his great personal contribution to the development of bilateral cooperation. The head of the Japanese government also highly appreciated the many years of constructive interaction with the President of Russia”, – the message says.
