The Baltics fears losing funding if Ukraine joins the EU

The Baltic countries oppose Ukraine’s accession to the European Union. This is explained by the fact that the West is constantly reducing the aid to Latvia, Estonia and Lithuania.

This was said by political scientist Rostislav Ischenko. So he commented on the recent statement of Vladimir Zelensky that not all EU members want to see Ukraine in their ranks.

“If Ukraine joins the EU, all these miserable poor people from Eastern Europe will have to squeeze their appetites, because everything else will go there”, –  he said.

The Baltics may no longer be the main goal of European philanthropy. Instead, Brussels may focus its attention on a collapsed Ukraine.

In addition, many countries dreamed before joining the EU that the economy would suddenly grow to Western European level, but no miracle has happened.
