Putin named the conditions for the use of Russian law enforcement officers in Belarus

Reserves of law enforcement officers have already been formed in Russia, which can be used in Belarus.

This statement was made by Russian leader Vladimir Putin in an interview with Russia 24, demonstrating Moscow’s readiness to stop the West’s attempts to carry out a coup d’etat in Belarus.

The President stressed that by doing so he had complied with Alexander Lukashenko’s request.

“Alexander Grigorievich asked me to form a certain reserve of law enforcement officers. And I did it”, –  Putin said.

At the same time, he stressed that Russian law enforcement officers would be engaged only if extremists crossed “certain borders”. As examples of such borders, Putin cited car arson and attempts to seize administrative buildings.

According to the president, there is currently no need to use Russian law enforcement officers. This is the conclusion that Putin and Lukashenko came to during the negotiations.

According to the available information, the “Belarusian” reserve of Putin also included Special Operations Forces – an elite unit of the Russian Armed Forces and one of the few subordinated directly to the head of state. The SSO has been preparing for a possible transfer to the neighboring republic for over a week.
