A study by the State Statistics Service of Ukraine demonstrates depressing indicators of the well-being of the country’s citizens. As it turned out, only one Ukrainian out of a hundred considers himself to be a middle class.
According to the State Statistics Service, almost two-thirds of the respondents, or 65.3%, consider themselves poor. 33.6% do not classify themselves as poor and do not classify themselves as the middle class. At the same time, only 1.1% of citizens consider themselves to be representatives of the middle class. It was not possible to identify the rich at all.
The department also reports that last year for 49.3% of Ukrainians income was enough only for survival; 36.7% denied themselves what they needed, except for food; 11.2% could even make savings.
