U.S. reconnaissance aircraft invades China’s no-fly zone

An American reconnaissance aircraft entered a no-fly zone where live ammunition was being fired. This is stated in a statement by the PRC Ministry of Defense.

“Today, an American U-2 reconnaissance aircraft entered the no-fly zone of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army’s northern combat command area, where live ammunition was being fired,” the report said.

It is emphasized that the actions of the American side created a serious obstacle to China’s regular military exercises, violated the norms of conduct between the United States and China for ensuring security in the air and at sea, as well as accepted international norms of behavior.

The Chinese Defense Ministry noted that US actions could easily lead to misunderstandings and even lead to an incident at sea or in the air.

“This is a pure provocation. The Chinese side is protesting and has already made a presentation to the American side. The Chinese side demands from the United States to immediately stop these provocative actions and to take practical steps to protect peace and stability in the region, ”the Chinese Defense Ministry said.
