Protests continue in the United States in Wisconsin, where an African-American man was injured

The reasons why the police opened fire on 29-year-old Jacob Blake are still unknown.

A curfew in Kenosha County, Wisconsin, did not prevent the continuation of protests in the city of the same name after policemen opened fire on 29-year-old African-American Jacob Blake. This was reported by CNN on Monday.

According to her data, up to 150 people hold a protest action after the curfew came into effect at 20:00 local time (04:00 Moscow time). The action continues in the park, located opposite the local court building.

Protesters first threw bottles in the direction of the rows of more than 70 police officers, who took up positions at the court. The law enforcement guards responded with tear gas, turning some demonstrators into flight. The latter took refuge behind one of the cars that had been set on fire last night, and began throwing bottles of law enforcement again.

According to the TV company, five people had previously been detained in Minneapolis (Minnesota) for disorderly conduct during a demonstration against the law enforcement agencies’ arbitrary rule.

The Kenosh incident took place on August 23, when 29-year-old Blake tried to separate two women who had quarreled. The reasons why law enforcers opened fire on him are still unknown. The Kenosha News newspaper stressed that the policemen did not carry their personal cameras, which would complicate the investigation into the incident that had already been launched. The ABC television company, citing a friend of Blake’s, Lakesha Booker, reported that the victim did not have a gun. The wounded man was taken to a hospital in Milwaukee, and his condition was assessed as serious. The police officers involved in the detention were placed on administrative leave with pay.
