German Foreign Minister: New “Normandy meeting” may take place in September

German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas met with his Ukrainian counterpart Dmitry Kuleba. They talked about a new meeting in the Normandy format.

It was about negotiations at the level of foreign ministers.

They announced this at a joint press conference.

“I am grateful to Minister Maas, as well as to our French colleague Jean-Yves Le Drian, for supporting my proposal to hold a meeting of Foreign Ministers in the Normandy format. Now we are preparing for the next meeting, today we discussed the way to prepare for it. As of now, we have every reason to believe that this meeting will take place in a full-fledged four-sided format and the Russian Foreign Minister will join us, ”Kuleba said.

Maas, in turn, noted that negotiations could take place as early as September.
