Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, commenting on the OSCE’s mediation proposals in Belarus, recalled how the West’s mediation efforts in Ukraine ended in 2014.
“About the mediation of the OSCE, which are now being discussed by many Western leaders both in Europe and in the United States, urging us to influence President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko so that he would agree to mediation by the OSCE. One example, we see how Western mediation in Ukraine ended in 2014”, – Lavrov said.
He recalled that then “an agreement was reached, signed by the foreign ministers of Germany, Poland and France”.
“And in the morning the opposition decided differently, said: “That’s it, we decided differently”, – the Russian minister recalled.
