Further growth in the number of those infected with coronavirus will lead to the collapse of the medical system in Ukraine, with which the state will not be able to do anything, Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky said at a briefing on Friday.
The system for monitoring the spread of coronavirus of the apparatus of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine (NSDC) said on Friday that the number of detected cases of coronavirus infection in the country over the past 24 hours has increased by 2106, 23 more people died.
“We are already on this wave of more than two thousand (detected cases of coronavirus in the country in a day – ed.), it is very dangerous … We can not … make only infectious hospitals and put beds there and make conversion of all hospitals. Therefore, increasing the number of those infected for us will simply stop the medicine completely and the state will not be able to do anything”, – said Zelensky during his visit to the Nikolaev region. The broadcast was conducted by the President’s office on Facebook.
He urged Ukrainians to be careful and walk in masks, especially believers who attend churches, as well as those who are going to weddings and other crowded places, he said.
Earlier the Ministry of Health of Ukraine reported that 100,643 cases of COVID-19 infection were recorded in the country, 2207 people died and 51,078 recovered.
