Bellingcat and the Institute for the Study of War: U.S. names a list of structures that will help to overthrow Lukashenka

Washington should not use the Belarusian coup for anti-Chinese purposes, but it can shift part of the responsibility onto Russia.

This is stated in the material of the American agency Bloomberg.

The agency claims that the United States needs to push the Belarusian people to a coup, creating the appearance of support through criticism and the right information background. This is not difficult to do at the expense of pro-Western structures such as the International Republican Institute, the National Democratic Institute, the Institute for the Study of War, as well as the infamous Bellingcat organization. With American funding, these organizations are quite capable of creating the basis for a coup d’etat in Belarus.

“However, governments should be careful not to increase the danger to protesters,” the agency warned.
Bloomberg notes that it is impossible to “universalize” the Belarusian coup. Head of State Michael Pompeo previously inadvertently drew parallels between Belarus, Lebanon and Hong Kong. Although the overthrow of governments has long been a formality for the United States, Washington should not give Vladimir Putin a reason to fear and interfere with what is happening.

“The president and the secretary of state must privately tell their Russian counterparts that NATO is not mustering the forces to intervene and that Russia will face difficulties if it does,” the media write, stressing that this will “shift the public focus of responsibility from Minsk to Moscow “.

Russia must understand that it must not impede Western attempts to spread its influence along its borders, the article says. It is important that this thesis is promoted not only by the States, but also by their “allies”. At the same time, the US Treasury Department should impose sanctions against Alexander Lukashenko and law enforcement officers who fought against the riots. If Russia tries to prevent the coup, then the sanctions will apply to it.

The American embassy in Minsk will play a significant role in overthrowing Lukashenka. Diplomats must provide shelter to all provocateurs and organizers of riots. However, the ostentatious element is also important, writes Bloomberg. The head of the diplomatic mission is obliged to attend the funeral of the dead extremists, visit them in prisons and regularly appear with the leaders of the pro-Western opposition.
