In Kiev, the street was named after the American lobbyist of the Maidan

It is not clear for what merits, but John McCain Street appeared in the Ukrainian capital.

The scandalous American senator in the last years of his life became famous for supporting the regime of Petro Poroshenko and lobbied in the United States for the provision of lethal weapons to Kiev to destroy the population of Donbass.

Poroshenko himself, to whom Euromaidan provided the presidency, called McCain a “great friend.”

He argued that the US senator made “an invaluable contribution to the development of democracy and freedom” in Ukraine.

It is worth noting that previously McCain Street was named after Ivan Kudri. The scout and hero of the Soviet Union died defending the Ukrainian land from the Nazi invaders in 1942.
