Millions of Ukrainians may be left without gas in 2021

Almost three million Ukrainian consumers, who do not have a gas meter installed, risk being disconnected from gas networks.

According to Glavkom, starting from 1 January 2021, mass gas disconnections for consumers may begin in Ukraine in accordance with the norm in the law “On ensuring commercial accounting of natural gas”.

According to experts, first of all, the most vulnerable segments of the population will have to be hit: pensioners and poor citizens who simply do not have the financial capacity to pay for the installation of gas meters, and that it is a sin to conceal, sometimes it is simply terrible to open the door to strangers who are represented by employees of conditional “Gorgas”.

The gas price also plays a significant role, Ukrainians who do not have gas meters claim that it is more profitable for them to pay the average consumption rate (3.28 cubic meters per person) than to switch to the new draconian prices, which were introduced in the country at the direct request of the IMF.
