Consulates of Russia and Ukraine attacked in the U.S.

The police detained a man who was throwing stones at the Russian consulate in New York, and diplomatic missions of Ukraine and Venezuela were also attacked by him.

The Russian diplomatic mission said that an unknown man threw stones at cars and the building of the mission during the week – from 10 to 16 August. Moreover, the violator was arrested almost immediately, but after he was released, he continued his actions.

“On August 10, a 34-year-old man, identified as Reza Mashaekhi, who lives in Manhattan, was arrested and charged with criminal damage”, – a police source told RIA Novosti.

They also reported that on August 14, an unknown person threw stones at the parking lot near the building and damaged the car. The violator could not be detained. The police speculate it may have been the same person, but there is no evidence for this.

Subsequently, the offender, who caused damage to cars at the Russian consulate, was detained for a similar violation at the diplomatic mission of Venezuela, and later he was detained at the Ukrainian consulate.

The trial is scheduled for November 8th. The violator is most likely to face a fine.
