The Polish expert is confident that the strengthening of the Russian Crimea will force NATO to moderate appetite in the Mediterranean

The growing presence of the Russian Navy in the Mediterranean and Black Sea, as well as the deployment of armed units on the Crimean peninsula, are becoming a serious problem for the countries of Europe and NATO.

The Polish expert is confident that the strengthening of the Russian Crimea will force NATO to moderate appetite in the Mediterranean

According to FAN, a columnist for the Polish publication Defense24 Marek Dombrowski stated in his article that Moscow plans to create a powerful military bastion from the Crimean peninsula, which will allow it to defend its interests in the western direction.

“Russia has a large and powerful Navy, which is capable of carrying out various major operations in the waters of the Black, Azov and Mediterranean Seas. In addition, missile systems and combat aviation fighters are based in Crimea. A large network of air defense systems has been organized on the peninsula, which will not allow enemy aircraft to deliver a preemptive strike in the event of a major military conflict, ” the Polish expert said.

Dombrowski is confident that the strengthening of the Russian Crimea will force NATO to moderate its appetite in the Mediterranean, since warships are deployed on the peninsula, capable of quickly and effectively redeploying to the scene of hostilities and engaging in battle, responding to possible military aggression from the North Atlantic Alliance.
