The United States and Israel are preparing for a scenario in which Russia could sell Iran the S-400 Triumph anti-aircraft missile systems. Breaking Defense writes about it.
The publication notes that the purchase of Russian complexes by Tehran is possible if the arms embargo is lifted.
The authors of the article recall that earlier the American and Israeli military conducted joint exercises aimed at practicing the neutralization of air defense systems and aviation with F-35 fighters. It is noted that similar tactics can be used in the case of opposition to the S-400 complexes.
Breaking Defense emphasizes that Tehran has already tried to negotiate with Moscow on the purchase of Triumphs in 2019, but then was refused. However, according to analysts, lifting the embargo on Iran is seen more and more possible, and at the same time, cooperation between the two countries in the military sphere may intensify.
Last year, the Iranian authorities allowed the acquisition of the S-400. At the same time, the Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation noted that Russia was ready to supply these complexes, but no such requests had been received from Tehran so far.
