Press Secretary of the President of the European Council Barend Leitz said on Twitter that the meeting will be held in the form of videoconference.
According to EADaily, President of the European Council Charles Michel said that an extraordinary European Council on the situation in Belarus will be held on August 19.
“I will convene a meeting of the members of the European Council this Wednesday, at 12:00, to discuss the situation in Belarus,” Michel said on his Twitter account. “Violence against protesters is unacceptable.”
