US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo completed his trip to Central and Eastern Europe in Poland. Together with the President of Poland, he signed a document on the increase in the number of US troops.
The United States and Poland are stepping up military cooperation. With his signature in Warsaw, US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo recorded the expansion of the US troop contingent in Poland. The visit marked the end of his trip to Europe.
At the end of his trip to Central Europe, US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo signed a contract to open the way for sending 1,000 more American soldiers to Poland. Pompeo signed an agreement with Polish Defense Minister Mariusz Blaszczak on Saturday.
“As a result, not only will there be more US soldiers and American infrastructure in Poland, but the guarantee will be strengthened that, in case of danger, Polish and US soldiers will stand shoulder to shoulder and protect against any threat,” Duda said about the agreement.
Pompeo said, in turn, that the agreement paves the way for the permanent presence of American troops in the country. According to him, this is strategically important for the United States and its allies.
