The countries participating in the International Contact Group on Venezuela have proposed the creation of a transitional government in Caracas.
As reported by “Correspondent” with reference to the general statement of the United States, the European Union, the majority of the Lima Group and the countries participating in the International Contact Group on Venezuela, the authorities in Caracas are invited to agree to the creation of a transitional government, which “will lead the country to free and fair presidential elections” in exchange for easing economic sanctions.
“We emphasize the readiness of all countries that implement economic sanctions to discuss their mitigation in the context of political progress”, – the document says.
“Elections to the National Assembly are not a political way out and can only polarize an already divided society more strongly”.
